Hi, long time since last post. Anyway, I participated in Ludum Dare 48h game development competition which ended about 12 hours ago. Because I haven’t taken a part in these kind of competitions before, I thought I’d have hard time getting my game completed in such a short time.
Theme was “Connecting worlds”. The theme led my thoughts in connecting planets together with ladders at the same time rescuing species from each planet. This somehow reminded me of what Elon Musk is doing today in his SpaceX company, saving the world trying to get people to the Mars and that’s why I named my game to LadderX. Also the main character is named Melon Tusk. I wonder if no-one got it 😉
Nevertheless, it was nice exercise. I made it using cocos2d-js because I wanted to offer convenient way of testing with no downloading and unpacking. It was a learning experience for me, because I haven’t programmed much javascript earlier and in addition to that, my project plan proved to be pretty accurate since I got my game idea completed during those 48 hours.
